Galveston Island State Park Bird Survey

Thursday, November 20th   9:00 am - 12:00 pm

I wanted everyone to mark their calendars for November 20th when we return to Galveston Island State Park for bird surveys and more fun! We will meet at again at the headquarters and end close to noon.

This time we may break into two groups as we focus a little longer in each survey area, specifically along the beach. I will have more details about the shorebird beach surveys very soon.

I would come prepared with the following:
1.       Water bottles (full)
2.       Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
3.       Long pants (for walking through tall grass)
4.       Bug spray
5.       Binoculars (I’ll bring some in case we need more)
6.       Their favorite bird book or reference material
7.       Any materials they will need to fill out for you.

I will bring binoculars and bird guides, datasheets and extra water and snacks for the group. It is going to be really nice next week, but since we will be out in the morning until lunchtime, I would wear layers that could be shed if it gets warm.

If you have any questions, please let me know. I will send an email with directions and further details in another week or so. Spread the word and have anyone interested email me to get on the email chain for updates.

Have a great weekend and I will be in touch!
