GISP Survey January 15th

We will be conducting a bird survey at Galveston Island State Park on Thursday, January 15th. We will meet at 9am again at the headquarters and end close to noon.

We will return to the three spots we will be surveying: the beach with less human activity, the “VIP” freshwater ponds/coastal prairie and everyone’s favorite, the birding tower.

Please notice that we are using a new sign up system to track those who are attending! It’s very simple, follow the link and enter your information. Please CLICK HERE to register for this event.

If you have questions, comments or concerns, please contact Kari Howard for additional information and details.

If you have not attended a bird survey at Galveston Island State Park, we welcome you to come out! If you need directions or further details feel free to email me.

For those who plan to attend, I would come prepared with the following:
  1. Bottle of water
  2. Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses
  3. Long pants (for walking through tall grass)
  4. Binoculars (I’ll bring some in case we need more)
  5. Their favorite bird book or reference material

I will bring binoculars and bird guides, datasheets and extra water and snacks for the group. The weather looks wonderful! I hope everyone is available to make it!

Thank you for spreading the word!
