Upcoming February Surveys

Sweetwater Bird Survey:

Be sure to mark your calendar for our next Sweetwater bird survey to be held on Monday, February 23^rd.  We will meet at the property entrance on 103rd Street in Galveston at 9:00am and finish up around 12:00pm.

I will have plenty of extra binoculars, as well as bottled water and snacks. It is that time of year when you just can’t tell what the weather will be like so dress appropriately.

GISP Bird Survey:

On February 25th we will return to Galveston Island State Park for bird surveys and more fun! Meet at the headquarters at 9:00am and we will end close to noon. I will provide additional details about the shorebird beach surveys when you arrive at the park.

I suggest you come prepared with the following:

1.       Water bottles (full)

2.       Hat, sunscreen, sunglasses

3.       Long pants (for walking through tall grass)

4.       Bug spray

5.       Binoculars

6.       Your favorite bird book or reference material

I will have extra binoculars and bird guides, datasheets, as well as water and snacks for the group. Hopefully it will be a nice next week, but watch the weather and dress accordingly.
