Creating a Bird Friendly Texas, Saturday - March 5, 2016

We are excited to announce our March Bird Nerd Series, featuring one of our very own Audubon Texas team mates, Dr. Tania Homayoun! Dr. Homayoun is the Urban Conservation Program Manager with Audubon Texas and works out of the Dallas offices and Audubon Centers. The Urban Conservation Program works with cities, counties, and land developers to help them understand how sustainability works for both people and wildlife through the use of native plants, wildlife corridors, and other alternatives to the typical human-dominated landscapes that provide no ecological value. She has trained City of Dallas employees on sustainable management practices for park maintenance and assisted in wildlife corridor designs for newly developed golf courses.

Dr. Tania joined Audubon Texas in July 2011 as the Senior Manager for Conservation and Education at the Dogwood Canyon Audubon Center and joined Audubon Texas’s Conservation Science Team as Senior Conservation Biologist in February 2013. The goal of her work is to develop and deliver conservation plans, educational programs/trainings, and activities that support Texas’ unique biodiversity and contribute to sustainable communities. She has some incredible knowledge of how humans and wildlife can and do co-exist in high functioning ecosystems! You won’t want to miss this!
